The most complete fighter
Combatthlon is designed to test and showcase the versatility of athletes across various combat sports. The competition includes different levels for striking, grappling, and MMA, with specific rules and safety measures in place to ensure a fair and secure environment for all participants.
Combatthlon tournaments are structured to offer a progression from local to international competitions. Each region hosts major 3-day tournaments, open tournaments (OT), and Grand Prix (GP) events. These lead up to the World Series (WS) tournaments, where the best athletes compete for top honors.
Combatthlon features levels ranging from beginner to elite for both striking and grappling disciplines. Each level has specific rules and allowed techniques, ensuring a safe and appropriate progression for all athletes. MMA levels require athletes to have at least one intermediate level in either striking or grappling.
Combatthlon emphasizes safety with mandatory protective gear, including face masks and hand protection for striking events. Palm strikes and slapping are used instead of punches to minimize injury. Specific gear requirements for grappling and MMA will be provided based on competition levels and rules.
Combatthlon uses a point-based scoring system tailored to each discipline. Striking competitions follow rules similar to WAKO, with point fighting, light contact, full contact, and K1. Grappling scores are based on techniques from Judo, BJJ, Wrestling, and Sambo, incorporating ADCC and NAGA rules. MMA scoring combines elements from striking and grappling to reflect the hybrid nature of the sport.
Combatthlon’s rules and regulations are designed to ensure safety and fairness. Striking follows modified WAKO rules, grappling combines elements from multiple disciplines, and MMA incorporates both. Detailed rulebooks are provided for each level and discipline, outlining allowed techniques, prohibited actions, and safety requirements.
Progression in Combatthlon is based on skill, experience, and performance. Athletes start at the beginner level and advance by demonstrating proficiency and achieving success in competitions. Specific criteria, such as winning matches and mastering techniques, are used to evaluate readiness for higher levels. Continuous training and participation in seminars and workshops can also aid progression.
Former elite athletes can engage with Combatthlon by promoting the sport, offering seminars, managing clubs, and mentoring younger athletes. Their involvement helps elevate the competition's profile and provides valuable insights and inspiration to participants. They can also contribute to the development of rules and training programs, ensuring Combatthlon remains at the forefront of combat sports.
