Combatthlon Rules - PALM STRIKES , SLAPPING and FACE MASK
1.1 Face Masks:
- Type: All participants must wear a basketball-type face mask, which covers the face but allows visibility and breathability.
- Specifications: The mask should be made from high-impact, padded material to protect against strikes while ensuring comfort and safety.
1.2 Palm Strikes and Slapping:
- Allowed Strikes:
- Palm Strikes: Allowed to the head but not to the face.
- Slapping: Open-handed slaps are also permitted to the head but must avoid the face area.
Gloves: Traditional boxing gloves are replaced with hand protection suitable for palm strikes and slapping.
2.1 Legal Strikes:
- Head Strikes: Palm strikes and slapping are allowed to the head, including the forehead, sides, and top of the head.
- Face Contact: Direct strikes or slaps to the face are prohibited.
2.2 Illegal Strikes:
- Face Strikes: Any intentional strike or slap to the face is considered illegal.
- Below the Belt: Strikes or slaps below the belt are prohibited.
- Back of the Head: Strikes or slaps to the back of the head or neck are not allowed.
3.1 Scoring:
- Points System: Points are awarded based on effective palm strikes and slaps to the head. Judges also consider control, technique, and overall performance.
- Judging: Matches are judged by a panel who assess the accuracy, power, and strategic use of strikes.
3.2 Fouls and Penalties:
- Warnings: Fighters committing fouls such as face strikes or illegal strikes receive a warning.
- Penalties: Repeated fouls or intentional illegal actions may result in point deductions or disqualification.
4.1 Medical Checks:
- Pre-Match: Mandatory medical examinations before each bout to ensure participants are fit to compete with the new equipment.
- Post-Match: Immediate medical attention and evaluation if needed, provided by qualified personnel.
4.2 Training:
- Technique Training: Fighters receive specialized training on how to effectively use palm strikes and slapping while wearing the face mask.
- Safety Protocols: Training includes techniques to avoid injury and ensure safe competition.
